Sylvan Beach, NY 13157

We visited here for the first time last night.  Our server was fast and friendly.  The food came out fast.  I had the Prime Rib cooked to perfection.  It was full of flavor, tender and juicy.  My husband had the Linguine and Clams.  He said that the oregano overpowered everything.

The decor consists of things you would find in a beach house.  There is also a bar, fireplace and stage.

I would eat here again.

We ate here last night.  I had the Fettucine Alfredo.  It was magnificent and very well presented.  The sauce was thick and creamy with just a hint of garlic.  My husband had the Linguine in Red Clam Sauce.  It was so good he was speechless.  Our sever, Patrick, was very efficient and friendly.  We ate for $35.00 and it was worth every penny.

I do not believe in first impressions. Sometimes you meet someone when they are having a bad day. The next time you meet this person is the sweetest person you could meet.

I believe that you can not judge a restaurant on you first visit. Remember, you will get a different server and or chef everytime you go to a restaurant. You definitely have to give new restaurants more than one chance after all, they are still learning.

The Heid*ing Place is a new restaurant located in Canastota NY. We ate there for the first time the other night. We had the Haddock dinner consisting of a salad, sliced bread, coleslaw, Haddock, and homemade fries. The salad was a mix of leafy lettuce and even though I usually don't like salad not made with iceburg lettuce, I tried it. Unfortunately, it didn't change my mind. The bread was dry, I don't like coleslaw and neither does my husband so, I can't state my opinion on that. hough the haddock was nicely cooked, we did not like the breading, it was bland and tasted of flour. The fries were delicious. For both of our dinners, our bill only came to about $24 and was worth the money. Now, even though I believe in friendly service,. I do not agree with your sever sitting right at your table with you when you are ordering which is what one waitress did.. This makes me uncomfortable. I am glad our waitress did not do this.

I will not rule out this restaurant yet. We will be trying it again.

From the owner: “Casual Waterfront Dining Overlooking Oneida Lake and the Historic Erie Barge Canal. Open January through November serving Lunch and Dinner. Open at 11:30 am. Outdoor Dining w/ Spectacular Sunsets”
We used to like going to this restaurant but, the last 3 times we went there, we were very disappointed with the food. The last time we went there was June 10, 2012. I had the Haddock Dinner and my husband had the Haddock Parmesan. My Haddock was like cardboard and the fries were rock hard and tasted like they were fried in week old oil. The Haddock parmesan was visually unpleasant, soupy and had no taste. We both took about 3 bites of our meals. The waitress came over and asked "Do you not like your meal?" My husband replied with "No, it is terrible." The waitress then walked away and got our check. She asked if I wanted a box for my meal and my husband replied "No, it tastes like cardboard." There was no apology, no offer of them making us something else, and no discount on our bill. We will not be returning to this restaurant. We will not return to this restaurant.

We have never stayed in the suites as we only live 10 minutes away. We have however, dined here many times.  We ate here on June 15, 2012.  I had the Chicken Brocolli Alfredo Fettucine. It was pleasant except the brocolli was mushy and the sause was runny. I prefer a creamy alfredo sauce. My husband had the Three Cheese Penne. He said it was good but the meatballs were tough. I will not order the same dish again but will continue to dine here as that was the only meal I wasn't perfectly happy with here.

My husband and I love this restaurant. It is only open from April-October. We ate there June &, 2012 . I had the Chicken and Biscuts. The biscuts were a little dry but the rest of it was delicious! My husband had the Chicken Riggies. He said the sauce was pheonomenal but a little spicy.

This is a restaurant I highly reccommend! The service is top notch, the atmosphere is very welcoming and fun and the staff is outstanding!
