My husband and I have been together for almost 7 years and he is
always telling me about this place.  We finally went there last night.
I really was not impressed.  It was no different than any other sub
shop.  Really, to me, all sub shops are the same.  I mean how can any
sub shops make subs different than other sub shops?  I don't think it's
possible except for using more meat than others.

I reviewed this restaurant before but want to do it again.  We ate here
Saturday evening and took a friend along with us.  We were lucky enough to be a part of their 40th anniversary and were treated to a free piece of birthday cake.  On this evening, they also has 3 big parties going on so the place was packed, not an empty seat to be had.  Our waiter, I believe his name was Devin, had a great personality and did a wonderful job of serving.  This is not to say that with it being so busy that there wasn't a wait between courses but it wasn't too bad of a wait.  Devin also made a couple of meaningless mistakes but it could have been a lot worse for as busy as they were.  Robert Irvine of Restaurant Impossible would have been pleased with the overall performance of this reataurant on this evening.

We ate here last week.  John ordered the Chicken Riggies and I ordered the Chicken Broccoli Alfredo.  This was our first time dining at this casual, family friendly restaurant.  I tasted John's riggies and can definitely see why Teddy's has won awards for this dish.  The Alfredo was out of this world delicious too!  The next time we go, I will be getting the Riggies!

Denny's has added the build your own burger and shakes.  My husband and I decided to build our own burgers.  The way it works is the server gives you a litlle order form to fill out.  You pick what you want on your burger.  Well, my husband built a double cheeseburger which should have consisted of  2 hamburgers.  He only got one burger on his sandwhich.  I wanted a potato bun not potato bread.  So, we let the waitress know it was wrong.  She said, "Oh, that was my fault, I wasn't paying attention."  So, she asked if we would like to have her fix it and my husband said no, he just wanted to make sure he wasn't being charged for the extra burger which, he was not.  So, when we were almost done with our meal, the waitress comes over and asks if we were going to want coffee or dessert.  We said no and she said. "Ok, I will bring you your check but there is no hurry."  It's a good thing there was no hurry because we still didn't have the check by the time were done with our meal.  We waited and waited.  Finally, I told my husband that I had to go to the ladies room and if she didn't bring the check by the time I got back, we would go to the counter.  Upon my return, my husband was already at the counter where we stood for at least 5 more minutes before anyone noticed we were standing there.  We really could have just walked out and not paid.  So, the person that finally noticed was our missing waitress.  She said " Oh, I didn't give you your bill?"  Wow what a dunce. Needless to say, along with being brainless, she was left tipless. So, we finally get out of there to find the manager standing out in the parking lot talking to someone in a car as if he hadn't a care in the world.  Really?

What a wonderful place!  It doesn't look like anything special from the outside but once you step inside, you can see how great it is.  When you walk in, you sign in and they call you when there is a table ready for you.  You wouldn't think a diner would have this system but as busy as they are, they need it.  There must have been at least 20 people on duty the day we went.  Every table was full and every staff person was busy.  Once we got our food, I realized why there is so many people willing to wait for a table. The food and service are excellent!  Definitely a great place to eat!

Dominick's Restaurant

1370 Burnet Avenue Syracuse, NY 13206
(315) 471-4262

This was a horrible place to eat.  We went here Friday night and
 took our daughter with us.

Let me start with the appetizer.  We ordered the
Appetizer Platter cheese sticks, chicken tenders, onion rings,
fried mushrooms, fried zucchini.  The breading on the ceesesticks and
the marinara sauce both left a bad after taste, the onion rings were
rock hard.

I ordered the Fried Haddock with French Fries.  The haddock was dry
and tasteless, the fries were cold.  Our daughter ordered the

ITALIAN PLATTER- Baked Lasagna, Ravioli, Rigatoni, Meatballs,
Sausage, Dinner Salad,  Bread & Butter, Choice of Homemade
Tortoni or Ice Cream.  She said the pasta tasted like it was
microwaved, when she cut a meatball in half, it was raw and when
she tried to stick the fork into the ravioli, she couldn't.

Needless to say,  we both sent our dishes back.  This is something I
usually don't have to do.

My husband ordered the Scallop Special- Sautéed Sea Scallops,
Broccoli & Mushrooms in Butter & GarlicSauce over Linguini
with Dinner Salad.  He enjoyed his but wasn't impressed.

I usually don't go on first impressions but, I read some other reviews
about this restaurant that were not very favorable so, we probably
                                         won't be going back.

This is our second review of this restaurant.  My husband and I ate here for the second time on 9~6~12.  I had the Fettuccine Alfredo- Pasta tossed with oven roasted grape tomatoes, sweet peas, and creamy alfredo sauce.  My husband had the  Linguine With Red Clam Sauce-  little neck clams served over a bed of linguine with your choice of sauce.  Both dishes were very good.

I would like to tell you a little about this restaurant and its staff.
When we walked in tonight, they had very few tables as they were all but full.  Even though they were very busy tonight, the staff kept everything running smoothly and kept their calm.  Now, admittedly, service was a bit slow but not too bad and certainly expected with how busy they were.  I did not hear any customers complain nor did I see any leave unhappy.

Dominique is the manager of this restaurant and we told her we were going to let her recommend our meals the next time we come in.  She was very happy to hear that and said it would be very fun!

So, until next time.....

Chesterfield's Tuscan Oven

Cesterfield's Tuscan Oven
2185 Glenwood Plaza
Oneida, NY 13421

Chesterfield Restaurant opened in 1988 on Bleecker Street in Utica, taking old world favorites and adding their own creative touch. They use one of the oldest methods of pizza making, coal fired pizza.  They provide their guests with a casual, friendly atmosphere and excellent service in addition to wonderful food.

We ate here for the first time on August 9, 2012.  I had the Fettuccine Alfredo- Pasta tossed with oven roasted grape tomatoes, sweet peas, and creamy alfredo sauce.  Although the dish was very good, i was not crazy about warm grape tomatoes.  My husband had the Chicken Riggies- rigatoni with chicken, sweet peppers, cherry peppers, mushrooms, and onions in a pnk sauce.  He was impressed.

Chesterfield's Tuscan Oven is Gluten-free and has a children's menu.

The best thing was, our 2 meals, an appetizer, 2 sodas, and bread only cost us $28!  Now that's affordable! Oh and at the end of your dinner you get complimentary cotton candy!  We were very happy with the staff, food and service.  We will be visiting again!

Spaghetti Warehouse

In 1972, the first Spaghetti Warehouse opened in the old warehouse district of downtown Dallas. Victor Petta Jr. created hearty, made from scratch favorites by combining recipes handed down through generations of the Petta family with American abundance. Chef Victor also invented our patented system for cooking pasta to create perfect al dente pasta every time. Our commitment to quality has seen the Spaghetti Warehouse grow to more than 16 restaurants in 7 states - and we're still growing.

I ate here for the first time ever.  My husband has eaten here before.  We both ordered the   15-LAYER LASAGNE-  which features  layer after layer of lasagne noodles,  robust Meat Sauce, Italian pork sausage, ground beef, and Romano, ricotta and mozzarella cheeses. Made by hand daily and topped with more home-made Meat Sauce.  It was amazing!

We went to the Restaurant located at:  689 North Clinton Street Syracuse, NY 13210.

The restaurant is located within and old factory.  There is a lot of old
items for decor including old tin signs, a confessional, and an old
trolley car in which you can sit to eat.

The Spaghetti warehouse is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a new
menu, 11 new dishes created by their new corporate chef, and a wide
array of promotions and events. This is their way of saying thank you to

Johnny Rockets

My husband, our children and I love this restaurant.  It is such a fun place to go to and the food is delicious.  This is a 50's style restaurant.  They feature small jukeboxes at every table.

The servers make cute little smiley faces with the catsup.

The one we go to is located at:
Carousel Center9672 Carousel Center Dr.
Syracuse, NY 13290
315-474-7406

The following information is from Wikipedia:

Johnny Rockets is an American restaurant franchise whose concept is to create a classic American restaurant atmosphere. The theme is the diner-style restaurant that had become a common sight by the 1950s. Decor includes Coca-Cola advertising featuring nearly life-size cardboard illustrations of women in World War II armed services uniforms, individual jukebox stations, chrome accents and red vinyl seats. The staff at some locations are known to sing and dance every half-hour. Making a smiley face with ketchup on the paper plate when served American fries is a Johnny Rockets trademark.
The menu, presentation, counter seating and grilling area are based on an original restaurant from 1947 (still operating today), The Apple Pan in West Los Angeles. The restaurants feature a small two-sided menu, hamburgers wrapped in paper on cardboard plates, hamburgers grilled-to-order in full view of the counter-seated customers.[3][4][5]

Texas Roadhouse is a legendary steak restaurant that serves hand-cut steaks, fall-off-the-bone ribs, made-from-scratch sides, and fresh-baked rolls served with a cinnamon butter.  They also serve a bucket of peanuts at every table.  This chain of restaurants is decorated in a Western Theme.

This is one of our favorite restaurants.  We always have a good time and delicious meal here.

Tonight, my husband ordered the Ft. Worth Ribeye.  See picture below to see what this meal consists of.

The Melting Pot

A Fondue Restaurant

This restaurant just opened at Carousel Center, 306 Hiawatha Blvd., Syracuse, NY 13204.  We took the kids here this past Sunday.

The Melting Pot offers attentive service, fine wines, the highest quality fresh  ingredients, a variety of cooking styles, unique sauces and chocolate fondue.

We had the best time here.  The waitress was very helpful and knowledgeable.  If she didn't know the answer, she went and got it quickly.  We actually gave her the standard 15% tip because she was so good.

So we ordered the Cheese Fondue.  This comes with rustic artisan breads, fresh vegetables, and crisp Granny Smith Apples.  You can choose one cheese fondue per cooktop at your table.   Yes, they actually prepare the fondue right at your table and tell you step by step what they are adding.

The Cheese Fondue

Our choice of cheeses were

Cheddar Cheese Fondue:  Aged medium-sharp cheddar and Emmanthaler Swiss cheeses melt beautifully with lager beer, garlic and seasonings.

Wisconsin Trio Cheese Fondue:  Rich Fontina and Butterkase join buttermilk bleu cheese, white wine, scallions and a hint of sherry.

We did not think to ask the waitress before we ordered if they had a gluten-free menu.  As she was pouring the beer base into the cheese mix, my son says "  I can't have that kind and told her he was allergic to gluten.   She then asked if we would like to have her make it gluten-free.  My son told her no, he could eat the other choice.  After a few dips into the Wisconsin Trio Cheese Fondue, our daughter decided that the taste of wine was overbearing.  She was right.  We then asked our waitress if they made the cheeses without alcohol.  She said yes then asked if we would like her to make a new batch without the wine. She did so and brought us out even more dippers.   The non-alcoholic dip  is made with a vegetable broth and was even more delicious.  For the four of us it was $64 so being a little expensive, this will be a place we return to when we can splurge.  The next time we go, it will be for the Chocolate Fondue.

Remember, they have a Gluten-free and Alcohol free menu!

99 Restaurants

Chain of family restaurants in New England.

We love this restaurant.  The steaks and Prime Rib are always tender, juicy and mouth-watering good!  Tonight we went there and with me having a toothache, I knew I wouldn't be able to chew beef.  So, I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana.  I was very disappointed with it.  The Chicken was so crispy the breading was hard, the chicken itself was dry.  This dish also comes with Penne Pasta with sauce.  This part of the meal was tepid at best.  The overall meal had no taste.

My husband had the Country Fried Chicken with  garlic red skin mashed potatoes, brocolli, and a honey butter biscuit.  He was pleased with his meal.

We will definitely continue to visit this restaurant but, I will stick with their Prime Rib or Steak.

Collosseo's Italian restaurant is located at 469 West Seneca Street Sherrill, NY 13461.  We visit here often.  You get fine dining in a casual atmosphere.

During our most recent visit, my husband and I both ordered the Chicken Riggies, julienne cut breasts of chicken sauteed with peppers, mushrooms and scallions reduced with white wine and simmered in a sweet marinara sauce presented with rigatoni.  It was delicious.  You get a large portion so you will not go away hungry!
